The interim tax levy will be issued on March 1, 2020 and was payable in two installments due and payable on March 27, 2020 and April 24, 2020.


In order to assist property owners during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Council of the Township of Armour has deferred the interest charge on the instalments of the 2020 interim taxes until June 26, 2020. Therefore, the Township of Armour will NOT charge interest on the 1st or 2nd instalment of the 2020 interim taxes until July 1, 2020. There will be no payments withdrawn from taxpayers’ bank accounts on April 24, 2020. This Interim payment will now be withdrawn on June 26, 2020.  Equalized monthly pre-authorized payments will continue to be withdrawn on the 1st of each month. Taxpayers who are currently on this payment plan, are encouraged to continue with these payments. Individuals on a pre-authorized payment plan that are unable to make payments should email to temporarily suspend withdrawals from their account. These requests must be received at least three business days prior to the withdrawal date. All postdated cheques that we have received will still be processed. Taxpayers that sent a postdated cheque who cannot pay will need to contact our office at 705-382-3332 or email

Tax Certificates

This service allows you to obtain a Tax Certificate showing the current tax status of a specified property.  There is a fee of $70.00 CDN associated with this service (no refunds).  Generally, Tax Certificates are purchased by law firms, banks and mortgage companies in association with property sales and for refinancing purposes.  To request a Tax Certificate, please contact the Administrative Assistant at 705-382-3332 or by email at  Tax Certificates are issued upon written request and upon receipt of the prescribed fee.

It is not permitted to enter upon a property that is advertised for tax sale.  These are not typical real estate transactions.  Entering upon a property advertised for tax sale proceedings is considered to be trespassing.   A tax sale is the process followed by a municipality to recover unpaid property taxes through the sale of the property in arrears.  Properties become eligible for the initiation of tax sale proceedings once they become two years in arrears.
