The Township of Armour is proud to announce that our outdoor skating rink is open as of 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025 at the Katrine Community Centre, 6 Browns Drive and is free for public use! The rink’s operating season is weather-dependent, so please check our Facebook page for updates. Please follow the rules and posted schedule to keep the facility open. Please share the ice with others. The rink hours are 8 am to 10 pm, unless posted otherwise. Helmets are recommended and parental supervision is recommended for children under 12 years. There is limited space to sit and tie your skates. We recommend bringing your own chair if you are watching others skate. Lockers are unavailable so please plan accordingly. A portable washroom is on site. There is a change room on the premises with a bench; however, the building is unheated. Please help us keep the building clean. Skate safe and most importantly, HAVE FUN! If you have any By-law Enforcement concerns, please call 705-477-3793.

We have a dedicated online platform that provides information, promotion, and registration information. Check out the new page by clicking the above image. The site has all of the event details for those that do not have access to social media. Explore the links and images from previous years. The page showcases our firefighter challenge, car show, vendors market, attractions and sponsors and gives you a glimpse of the event’s atmosphere and helps you to visualize what you can expect! Heritage Festival will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at the Burk's Falls Fairgrounds, 220 Centre Street and runs from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The grounds will host our annual Southeast Almaguin Firefighter Challenge, Car Show with awards (free registration), Vendors Market (over 100 vendors this year), and loads more free attractions for all ages! Contact Danika McCann at recreation@armourtownship.ca if you have any questions about the event. FREE ADMISSION, FREE BOTTLED WATER, FREE POPCORN!

As of January 1st, 2022 boaters are now required to remove drain plugs and take reasonable precautions to remove all aquatic plants, animals, and algae from their boats immediately upon removing the watercraft from a waterbody. In addition, boaters are also required to ensure their watercraft is free of all aquatic plants, animals, and algae before arriving at a boat launch or launching their boat in any Ontario waterbody. To make this simple, the NDMNRF has published a guide designed to provide watercraft users with practical options to comply with provincial rules.
