RELOADABLE LANDFILL CARD

Landfill Cards will only be issued to the registered owner(s) for each occupied residential property. Vacant land and commercial/industrial properties WILL NOT receive a Landfill Card, however, a Landfill Access Pass will be issued for access to the site and waste disposal will be charged at $3 per bag.

Landfill Cards have a cash value of $90.00 for 2023 which will allow residents to dispose of 30 bags of garbage from January - December. Existing card holders do not need to do anything, your annual bag allocation will be automatically updated in January, New property owners must pick up their Landfill Card at the Township Office.

You cannot copy, duplicate or replicate a Landfill Card. Lost, stolen or misplaced cards will only be replaced at the expense of the owner. Landlords are responsible to ensure their tenants receive their card.

If you are unable to attend the Municipal Office in person to pick up the new card, you can complete an authorization form to have the card mailed to you, or you can authorize another person to pick it up for you. Please fill out the appropriate authorization form, sign it, and give it to the person who you are authorizing to pick the card up on your behalf, or email/mail the form to us.

Replacing a lost card will now be at the user’s expense. Can’t find it; the dog ate it, no excuses. It is the responsibility of the property owner to ensure this card is available when disposing of waste.

Temporary passes will still be available for property owners with seasonal rentals. These passes must be arranged by the owner through the municipal office. Renters showing up at the site without an authorized pass will not be allowed to deposit waste at the site.

All authorization forms can be found below or at the municipal office.

This also extends the life of the landfill site, ensuring other generations can have the convenience of a landfill site as well.

All Tires – On or off rims – free disposal

Electronics – Anything with a cord – free disposal

REUSE CENTRE

One person’s junk is another person’s treasure! The purpose of the Reuse Centre is to ensure that items which would normally be put in the garbage are available for use by others. Gently used items can be dropped off with the Gate Attendant.

By reusing an item instead of throwing it out, we save landfill space. Reused items are more affordable and often unique. Clothing, coats, bedding, and towels will not be accepted at the TRI R Reuse Centre. Bedding, blankets and towels are almost always accepted at the local animal shelters and bordering kennels.

Tipping Fees will apply to items dropped off for the TRI R Reuse Centre and a small donation is expected when items are taken from the Centre.

Acceptable items include: small furniture, sporting goods, toys, books, housewares, etc.

Unacceptable items include: hazardous materials, food wastes, liquids, potentially unsanitary items (such as toilets, mattresses, etc.), textiles and bulky items.

The Landfill Attendant has the discretion to not accept any item.
