Congratulations to the Burk's Falls, Armour & Ryerson Union Public Library!
For the second year in a row, our local library has won the TD Summer Reading Club Accessibility Award — a national honour recognizing one library across Canada each year for outstanding efforts in making summer reading accessible to all children.
This award is a testament to the library’s unwavering commitment to inclusion, creativity, and community impact. The Township is incredibly proud to see their leadership and innovation celebrated on a national stage.
👏 Special recognition goes to Lily Kyte, Summer Program Coordinator, whose thoughtful and inclusive approach helped shape a truly accessible program. From offering braille and tactile resources to adapting activities for all abilities, Lily and the library team showed that even with limited resources, small libraries can achieve BIG things.
Their work reminds us that accessibility isn't about having it all — it's about making what you have work for everyone.
💬 As Lily shared: “Inclusivity and accessibility are responsibilities that all libraries share in providing a positive, equitable experience to all patrons—especially for young readers.”
📖 Thank you to the library staff and volunteers for your dedication and heart. You continue to make our community proud. 💛
