DELEGATION

APPEAR AS A DELEGATION

Anyone wishing to address Council on a matter will be required to:



  • Contact the Clerk to be placed on the Agenda
  • Provide a copy of their presentation to the Clerk or his/her designate by 2:00 p.m. on the Thursday (Wednesday in the case of a holiday weekend) prior to the Council meeting date. Written material provides members and staff with a better understanding of your concerns and recommendations. You should be aware that all written materials could be made public as they are distributed to the members of the Council, staff, and the media.

ALL DELEGATIONS TO COUNCIL ARE SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • A maximum of fifteen (15) minutes to present information; except a delegation consisting of more than two (2) persons shall be limited to two (2) speakers, each limited to speaking not more than ten (10) minutes;
  • Council may limit the number of delegations heard at any meeting;
  • Not speak on any subject other than the subject for which they have received approval to address;
  • Not enter into cross debate with other delegations, administration, Members or the Chair;
  • Council may, at its sole discretion, entertain deputations with less notice as the circumstance may warrant;
  • Refrain from public outbursts, shouting or behaviour intended to disrupt the discussion and/or general proceedings of the Meeting.
